coming Spring 2026 🎬 …..
Things have been moving so quickly lately. I have so much news to share and I’m just giddy with anticipation! But for now I’ll give you the news one piece at a time.
So today’s news: I’m honored to have been asked by Nebraska Public Media, Nebraska’s PBS station, to be one of 3 artists featured in the new season of their award-winning series known as JAM.
According to producer, Michelle Wolford, “JAM puts the spotlight on the creators of some of the best original music being played today. In the rehearsal room, the studio, or at venues and clubs, JAM captures the sound where it happens - and brings you there.”
On set for JAM at Nebraska Public Media.
I have Hector Anchondo to thank for giving NPM the heads up on what I’ve been doing here in Omaha during my residency at The Music House (thank you as always to Jeff Davis and Vanessa Marie with Catalyst Foundation/Playing with Fire for this opportunity!). Michelle reached out and told me about the series and sent me a link to an award-winning episode from the 2025 season. I was hooked. The program is so beautifully done. You can see the professionalism and the care they put into the series! Check out this clip from season 3 below, or watch the full program here.
So on Thursday of this past week, I made my way to Lincoln, Nebraksa for the first time to the really impressive Nebraska Public Media studios. The place is huge! It was so much fun to have a truly behind the scenes look at what it takes to really make something like this happen. The entire team was so kind, so helpful and encouraging and so clearly talented. It was a joy to work with each one of them!
On set!
And of course, I was thrilled to have a crew of my own to help me make some tasty music. And what a crew! Randy Leasman on bass from Davenport, IA, Dave Ducharme-Jones on lead guitar and Russ Tomlinson on drums both from Des Moines, and Mitch Town on keyboard from Omaha. Though we’d never all played together before meeting in Lincoln, everything went exactly how I’d hoped it would with these pros. They are all just so dang GOOD. Plus, they’re a pretty great hang as well!
It was a long day of recording, but they fed us well and we were happy to be there!
There are lots of fun and funny photos to share with you (see Gallery if you’re seeing this via email as a subscriber). I even have a picture from when I got to clap the clapper! (I’m sure there’s a technical term for it, but I like The Clapper so I’m sticking with it.)
Though we spent the day recording, there’s still more to do. There will be cameras at my January 3rd house concert in Omaha to capture an audience and I’ll be doing a separate day of interviewing with Michelle as well. They put so much time into this series, and I feel honored to have been asked to be part of it.
Producer Michelle Wolford. Queen!
Michelle Wolford’s passion for this series is clear, and I’m happy to know this incredible woman!
So check out the photos below and stay tuned for the release of the dates. You’ll be able to enjoy season 4 of JAM with Jeni Grouws in spring/early summer 2026! 💛
